Growing up in a family business, you learn a lot of things that are not part of the every day stuff most people do or know about. Part of that was how to get the information out to customers, or really, people who you wanted to be customers. One thing we did was take information out of phone books, and created our own mailing lists. It was super time intensive and not always remarkably successful. I remember my dad used to get these magnetic signs with the company name and phone number on them to stick on the doors of our vehicles once we could not find a decent hand lettering guy any more.
